Can’t believe I missed this review from months ago. I’ve been working like mad on the next two books. Overdue, but on the way.
I’ll be reading from my short story collection on Thursday Jan. 17th at 7:30pm at Stories Books & Cafe in Echo Park with two other local authors.
Stories is located at 1716 Sunset Blvd. between Le Moyne and Logan. Metered parking is available in the lot behind the store on Le Moyne St. Map and directions are on the link of this event.
Please come early and support the store & cafe!
* Order a coffee or tea & have a sandwich.
* Hang out & meet writers & other lit types.
* Wander the aisles & buy a book.
The book was published January 15th. It will be exclusive on Amazon for at least three months. A paperback will be out the week of January 20th. It’s $4.99 for the Kindle e-book, $9.99 for the paperback, and free for Amazon Prime members.
The Genius of Little Things
Sixteen-year-old Tyler’s big dream of becoming a top immunologist could come crashing down if he doesn’t manage all of the little things right now.
But when this obsessive-compulsive science geek must juggle a school election, two jobs, needy tutees, a first girlfriend, and the possible extinction of honeybees, there are suddenly too many things to manage.
Tyler’s catastrophically humorous run for high school student council convinces the Principal that he’s a troublemaker, while it wins him the admiration and desire of Rachel, a smart and iconoclastic reporter for the school paper.
A new night job at a nursing home puts Tyler on a collision course with his new foster parents, a childless middle-aged couple with dark secrets of their own. And the pain of his mother’s tragic death becomes too big for him to ignore.
The Genius of Little Things is journalist and screenwriter Larry Buhl’s first novel.
